Some miscreants on Thursday evening pelted stones on a vehicle in which Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary’s wife Seuli Brahma Mohilary was travelling.
The incident took place when Seuli Brahma Mohilary was returning from Ultapani in Kokrajhar district near the Indo-Bhutan border.
The miscreants pelted stones on the vehicle – Land Cruiser – from both sides.
Talking to reporters, Seuli Brahma Mohilary, wife of BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said she was returning from Ultapani Shiva Temple along with council head of the department (CHD in-charge) Jajnabati Basumatary Mohilary.
Seuli Brahma Mohilary said, “When we were returning from Ultapani Shiva Temple, some miscreants attacked our vehicle from both sides today at 5.30 pm in the Chirang reserve forest under Haltugaon forest division.”
She also said, “Our vehicle was attacked from both sides with stones but we escaped unhurt.”
The costly vehicle was damaged in the attack.
The driver of the vehicle said the miscreants pelted stones just after the escort vehicle left the spot.
He said there could be 10-12 miscreants who pelted stones.
No one could be ascertained as to whose hand is there behind the act.
It is also not known what was the motive of the miscreants behind the attack on the vehicle of the BTC chief.
Only a proper enquiry into the incident would bring to light the truth.
It may be mentioned that Hagrama Mohilary during an interview with a local news channel said the much-hyped Bodo Accord signed with all the NDFB factions and the ABSU has nothing.
Mohilary also said former ABSU president Pramod Boro, who has left the students’ organization to join politics, would be sidelined as the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has approached the NDFB factions to join them.
