Continuing with the shower of star kids in Bollywood, Pooja Bedi’s daughter and Kabir Bedi’s granddaughter Alaya Furniturewalla is all set to hit the silver screen.
Alaya is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Saif Ali Khan and Tabu starrer, ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’, which is set to hit screens this Friday.
The promo and songs have received a positive feedback from the audience and the movie is expected to take a decent start at the box office.
Looking at the promo, it is expected that Alaya has the spark and hopes gallore she will impress the audience with her acting skills.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, the 22-year-old actress revealed that despite being a star kid, she was never approached for a film and got rejected several times.
“I got rejected several times, then, was lucky enough to bag this film. I’m glad that I got rejected and grateful my debut is happening with Saif Sir and Tabu ma’am. It didn’t feel real until I started shooting the film,” she was quoted as saying.
The actress also shared her views on nepotism and said, “We need to realize that even in our struggle, we are privileged. If we get rejected in 10 auditions, someone else has got the thumbs down 100 times. Their struggle is greater than ours. But just because I’m privileged, it doesn’t mean that I’m not going to do what I love and work hard for it.”
‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ is directed by Notebook and Filmistaan helmer Nitin Kakkar, and is produced by Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Saif Ali Khan and Jay Shewakramani under the banners of Pooja Entertainment, Black Knight Films and Northern Lights Films.
It also features Farida Jalal, Kumud Mishra and Kiku Sharda in supporting roles.
