A two-year-old kid was charred to death in Dungrei Sasgaitang Hungpung, Ukhrul district of Manipur when her home caught fire on Saturday evening.
The dead toddler has been identified as Ningshirin Kasomhung, daughter of one Alexander Kasomhung.
Firefighters rushed to spot immediately after the fire incident was reporter, however, they were unable to save the unfortunate child.
Four rooms of the house were completely gutted and till the filing of this report, the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
“The child was sleeping when the fire engulfed the house,” police informed.
The Ukhrul fire occurred barely two days after two children were charred to death in Guwahati when their home caught fire on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, seven-year-old Iban Goswami and his four-year-old brother Ishan Goswami were killed on spot in a major fire that engulfed their resident.
