The students alleged that the gang entered the university on motor cycles following the VCโ€™s car.

The students alleged that the university security officer, Supriyo Ganguly, reached the spot but he didnโ€™t take any action.

SFI state secretary Srijan Bhattacharya pinned the blame on the ABVP and said the RSS studentsโ€™ wing is trying to wash its hands off the matter.

โ€œTheir identity has come out in the open. These students were seen holding a meeting with VBU VC and attending ABVP meetings. These former TMCP members have found shelter in the ABVP now. They attacked our members in a pre-planned manner. We will protest against this,โ€ Indian Express quoted Bhattacharya as saying.

On January 5, ABVP members run amok on JNU campus injuring several students of the university including JNUSU president Aishi Ghosh.
