In order to clear extra rush of passengers, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to run a special train between Guwahati and MGR Chennai Central.
The train No 06637 will start operation from January 8, 2020 from Guwahati and the train No 06638 will start operation on January 6 next year, from MGR Chennai Central, said the general manager (Operations), Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

However, the train 06337/06338 will undertake only eight trips.
While train No 06637 will operate only on Wednesdays till February 26, 2020, the train No 06638 will operate only on Mondays till February 24, 2020.
The train will have one AC-2 tier coach, two AC-3 tier coaches, fourteen sleeper class coaches, three general second class coaches and two SLR coaches.

The train will leave from Guwahati at 11: 25 pm on January 8 and will reach MGR Chennai Central at 4.30 am on January 11.
The train will halt at a large number of stations so that the railway passengers can avail the benefit of it.
It will halt at Goalpara Town, Kokrajhar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Asansol, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Vizianagaram and Vijaywada before arriving at MGR Chennai Central.
The train will also make some commercial stoppages at several places along the way.
