Following the breakdown of law and order situation, security has been intensified in Dibrugarh, the home district of the Assam chief minister.

Curfew has been imposed in the district to maintain law and order.

Army has been taking out flag marches in the sensitive areas of the district.

The anti-CAB protesters blocked the Mancotta road slashing down trees, burning tyres for hours and raised slogans against the BJP government.

After that security forces fired tear gas and rubber bullets targeting the protestors.

“The protestors vandalized many buses at the ASTC bus terminus at Chowkidinghee. We are taking strict action against the miscreants. We have come to know that some third party is involved in the vandalism incident,” said a police official.

The anti-CAB protesters also attacked at the RSS office in Dibrugarh and torched two motorcycles.

The protesters also set fire two rooms of the office and damaged all the belongings in the room.

Despite being present at the spot of the incident, the police failed to stop the unruly mob.

Union minister for food processing and industries Rameswar Teli’s residence at Tipling Chariali in Duliajan was also attacked by the anti-CAB protesters.

The protesters hurled petrol bomb at his residence. They tried to set fire his residence but police prevented them from setting the house on fire.

A clash took place at Duliajan between the police and anti-CAB protesters in which 13 people including the officer-in-charge of Duliajan police station, Rupjyoti Dutta, were injured.

The injured were rushed to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) and they are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The protesters also vandalized an ambulance at Duliajan.

Meanwhile, the protesters set the Chabua branch of United Bank of India on fire.

Four shops were also set on fire at Hijuguri in Tinsukia district.
