In yet another nude protest against the CAB in Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s home district Dibrugarh, three youths on Monday stripped off their clothes to express their fury against the bill.

Three youths belonging to All Assam Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) staged the nude protest at Thana Chariali in Dibrugarh moments after Union home minister Amit Shah introduced the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha.

The naked protesters–Dipankar Dowera, Raj Khan and Arzu Ali–shouted slogans against BJP government and chief minister Sonowal for introducing the  Bill in the Lok Sabha.

Chief minister Sonowal’s home district Dibrugarh has witnessed widespread protests against the bill.

Five youths in Chabua on Thursday had staged a nude protest against the CAB.

The five youths who participated in the nude protest were identified as Durlav Baruah, Pradipta Phukan, Jagjit Gohain, Deepjyoti Handique and Dipankar Gohain.

The 12-hours Assam bandh called by All Assam Chutia Students’ Union affected normal life in Dibrugarh district of upper Assam on Monday.

The activists of the students’ body burnt tyres on roads in different areas of the district.

Business establishment, banks and educational institutions remained closed during the bandh.

Dibrugarh district administration provided buses to the passengers to Mohanbari Airport.

The protesters has confronted with the police on NH-37 near Mohanbari Airport.

“We will continue our protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The bill is against the interest of the people of Assam,” said a protester.

On the other hand, some women protesters threatened to stage nude protest in Dibrugarh if the bill is not scrapped.
