Tripura Congress on Thursday gheraoed the RBI office at Agartala in protest agaisnt the anti-people policies of the Centre and the poor economic conditions of the country.
The Congress leaders, supporters and workers, led by All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and in-charge of Tripura Congress, Bhupen Borah, staged demonstration in front of the Reserve bank of India (RBI) office in Agartala.
Earlier, protesting anti-people policies of the BJP-led central government, the Congress workers and supporters took out a rally on the streets of the capital city.
The rally, which was participated by the State Congress leaders, was taken out from the Congress Bhavan and covered different parts of the city.
Congress leader Bhupen Borah was also present in the party rally.
While addressing the party supporters, former Bihpuria constituency MLA Bhupen Kumar Borah said, “The economic condition of India has gone into coma during the Narendra Modi regime.”
He also said, “During the election campaign in 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) promised that they would provide jobs to 2 crore unemployed each and every year.”
“But instead of job creation, 90 lakhs people have lost their jobs in the last six years in India,” claimed Borah.
Bhupen Borah also said the Narendra Modi-led government has waived loans of the corporate but the conditions of the farmers are becoming worse day by day.
“To buy agri items, the farmers need to pay GST also,” he said.
