Two medium-intensity earthquakes shook parts of Assam and Nagaland on Wednesday afternoon and evening respectively.
On Wednesday afternoon around 1:10 pm, an earthquake measuring 4.7 at the Richter scale struck Assam.
With its epicentre at Diphu in Karbi Anglong district of Assam, the quake jolted several areas of Karbi Anglong and other areas from the nearby districts.
Towards the evening at around 6:40 pm another quake of 4.7 intensity on the Richter scale struck Nagaland.
The epicentre of the quake was 52 km from Dimapur and jolted several parts of Nagaland including Dimapur, Kohima and neighbouring areas in Assam.
Till the filing of this report, there was no report of any damage to life and property due to the earthquakes.
