In a minor reshuffle, the Assam government has transferred Bongaigaion deputy commissioner Adil Khan and appointed as the new transport commissioner of the state.

IAS officer Khan has also been given additional charge of the state project director, Assam Inland Water Transport Development Society, said a state government order issued on Wednesday.

Prior to his appointment as the Bongaigaon DC, Adil Hussain served as the Hailakandi deputy commissioner.

He took charge as Bongaigaon DC as per an order issued on January 8, 2019.

In the same transfer order, issued by Debajyoti Dutta, additional secretary to the Assam government, Personnel (A) department, Tinsukia deputy commissioner Oinam Sarankumar Singh has also been transferred.

IAS officer Oinam Singh has been appointed as the managing director (MD) of the Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (AIDC) under the Industries and Commerce Department of Assam.

IAS officer Dr. Sadnek Singh, who is currently serving as the additional deputy commissioner of Kamrup (M) district, has been transferred and posted as the deputy commissioner of Bongaigaon.

After being promoted, IAS officer Dr Singh will replace the outgoing Bongaigaon DC, Adil Hussain.

ACS officer Bhaskar Pegu, who has been serving as the deputy commissioner of Baksa district, has been transferred and posted as the deputy commissioner of Tinsukia.

Meanwhile, ACS officer Ranjan Sarma, who has been serving as the additional secretary to the government of Assam, home and political department, has been transferred and posted as the deputy commissioner of Baksa.

Ranjan Sarma will replace outgoing Baksa deputy commissioner Bhaskar Pegu.
