Cadet Senior Under Officer Vinole Kiso of 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima, will represent India in the Youth Exchange Programme in Singapore from November 11 to 20.
The NCC cadet from St. Joseph’s College Jakhama (Autonomous) joined the DG NCC Camp in New Delhi on Sunday, a defence release said.
After a rigorous selection process, Vinole was selected to represent the Northeast region NCC Directorate in Republic Day Contingent Camp in New Delhi in January 2019.
She was part of the All India NCC Girls Contingent which marched on the Rajpath during the Republic Day parade, flag area briefing, line area competition and all India best cadet competition.
During the camp, she cleared a series of tests and interviews for YEP and was later nominated for YEP Singapore.
YEP is a country-to-country exchange of cadets belonging to NCC/equivalent government/youth organisations of friendly countries.
They participate in NCC activities of the host country to create an increased awareness and appreciation of each other’s socio-economic and cultural realities.
NCC has a vibrant YEP with 11 countries and around 100 cadets from India go abroad for YEP annually, the release added.
