Nirmal Purja, a mountain climber from Nepal, on Tuesday scripted history by becoming the first man to scale 14 peaks in 7 months.
Nirmal, also known as Nims and his team reached the summit of Mount Shishapangma in China on Tuesday.
The team members include Mingma David Sherpa, Galjen Sherpa and Gesman Tamang.
Purja has now set a world record by scaling a total height of 8000 metres within seven months.
“MISSION ACHIEVED!” said Nirmal Purja from the summit of Shishapangma, according a tweet on Purja’s Twitter handle.
“At 8:58 hrs local time, Nims and his team reached the summit of Shisha Pangma. Team members include: Mingma David Sherpa, Galjen Sherpa and Gesman Tamang,” the tweet further mentioned.

By scaling 14 peaks in 7 months, Purja has broken the previous world records.
In May, Nims climbed Everest (8,848 metres), descended to South Col and climbed adjoining Lhotse (8,516 metres), then flew to Makalu base camp and climbed that peak (8,481 metres) too, all in 48 hours.
He has broken his previous record of scaling same three peaks in five days in 2017.
Jerzy Kukuczka, a Polish man, was the first mountaineer to climb 14 peaks in 7 years, 11 months and 14 days in 1987.
The earlier record for such attempt was 7 years, 10 months and 6 days, a feat achieved by Korean climber Kim Chang-ho in 2013.
Purja had started his remarkable journey of ascending fourteen mountain peaks in April this year.
The whole journey had been named as Project Possible.
