Several states of Northeast India will witness โheavy to very heavy rainfallโ on Monday while โheavy rainfallโ will lash the region in the next four days.
This has come to light in the latest weather forecast by the National Weather Forecasting Centre (NWFC) of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday evening.

The NWFC in its All India Weather Warning Bulletin said several places in Sikkim are likely to be hit by โheavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy fallsโ on Monday.
It also forecast โheavy to very heavy rainfallโ at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya and โheavy rainfallโ at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Monday.
โThunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely to occur at isolated placesโ over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, the bulletin said.

The NWFC in its bulletin said on Tuesday, โheavy to very heavy rainfallโ is โvery likelyโ to hit isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya.
It also forecast โheavy rainfallโ at isolated places over Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on Tuesday.

However, on Thursday, the region will get respite from โheavy rainfallโ.
But on Friday, โheavy rainfallโ is likely to lash isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
With the Durga Puja festival beginning on Friday, โheavy rainfallโ is likely to dampen the festive spirit of the people of the Northeastern states, mainly in Assam, Tripura and Sikkim where the festival is celebrated with much fanfare and religious fervour.
