Arunachal Pradesh sports and youth affairs minister Mama Natung on Saturday inaugurated the Donyi-Polo Cricket Academy (DPCA) at the Donyi-Polo Colony here.

Addressing the gathering, Natung advised the players to be disciplined, dedicated and determined to achieve their dreams.

“Keep yourself away from harmful substances. Work hard and you never know, it may be one of you who would become the first cricketer of the State to represent the country,” he said.

The minister also assured all possible help to the academy for its endeavors.

Speaking at the event, APB&OCWWB chairman Jalley Sonam also assured to support the club and its players, special guest TC Tok asked the budding cricketers not to be demoralized it they do not get through a selection or team.

Earlier, Itanagar Cricket Club president Suraj Tayam highlighted the problems being faced by the cricketers and that by the academy and sought assistance from the minister for the same.

A minute of silence was also observed in the memory of Late Tado Kholie, the founder secretary of Arunachal Cricket Association who passed away recently.
