The Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) of NF Circle under the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, Sailesh Kumar Pathak, had discussions with senior NFR officials on safe train operations in Guwahati on Wednesday.

The meeting, held at NFR headquaretrs in Maligaon, was also attended by Sanjive Roy, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) and the Additional General Manager of NFR, Radhey Raman.

The meeting assumes significance in view of the fact that railway electrification work and various types of developmental works have been going on in full swing throughout Northeast Frontier Railway.

It is expected that the railway electrification will increase the average train running speed in train routes under the NFR.

“During the meeting various parameters of safe train operations were elaborately discussed and various measures were also suggested by the CCRS,” informed Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), NFR.

He also stated that reasons for various types of train accidents that have occurred recently were also discussed by the CCRS.

A small presentation on various measures being taken by NFR to ensure safety was also shown during the meeting by the Principal Chief Safety Officer of NFR, M.K. Agrawal.
