Like million other Indians, Resubelpara in North Garo Hills district of Meghalaya also celebrated 73rd Independence Day on Thursday.

Kyrmen Shylla, the youngest MLA from Khleirieth, who is also the minister of printing & stationery, Social Welfare, Disaster Management, Government of Meghalaya unfurled the tricolour.
More than 32 parade contingents led by Nikcheng Ch Momin (DSP –HQ) filled up parade ground with their beautiful steps in oneness marching.

“Let us Love our nation – the land begotten Independence earned by the sincere sacrifices of our forefathers,” said Kyrmen Shullaiin his speech.
The vibrant cultural programme by different cultural troops, the sports and multiple entertainment programmes were also organized to all age group of citizens of the district.

The programme was attended by North Garo Hills deputy commissioner SC Sadhu DC and Billy Graham R Marak, the superintendent of police of the district.
