Thousands of people gathered for the last rites of Ningthoujam Babysana Chanu who was found dead under mysterious conditions on July 18 last in her hostel room.
She was a Class VII student of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School.
The mortal remains of Babysana were laid to rest on Wednesday.
Demanding justice for the deceased and extreme punishment for the guilty, people on Thursday afternoon stormed into the Cheirap Court complex.
They demanded that those involved, especially Pheiroijam Landhoni and her son Pheiroijam Robinson, should not be granted bail.
Pheiroijam Landhoni is the principal of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School.
Reacting to the ruckus of the Thursday afternoon, the joint action committee (JAC) and the Thang- meiband United Club (TUC) clarified that they were not involved with the ruckus.
JAC co-convenor Pratap Leishangthem said, “Some people tried to project their struggle for justice in the wrong light by raising a hullabaloo at the court complex.”
Further, Leishangthem also thanked every person who came forward demanding justice for the 14-year-old who was found hanging in her hostel room.
A special investigating team (SIT) is investigating the case.
The JAC was formed after Babysana’s death to seek justice for the victim.
The mysterious death of Babysana has shaken the entire state.
