Assam’s Lovlina Borgohain stormed into the semi-finals of the Magomed Salam Umakhanov Memorial International Boxing Tournament in Kaspiysk, Russia.
Lovlina defeated Anastasiya Sigaeva of Russia 5-0 and assured a medal.
The 21-year-old pugilist from Assam will now face Alina Veber of Belarus for a place in the finals.
Apart from Lovlina, Asian gold-medallist Pooja Rani and two other Indians entered the semi-finals as well.
The other two Indians are India Open gold-medallist Neeraj and former world youth bronze-medallist Jony.
The semi-finals were played on Wednesday night.
In the competition, six Indian men and five women took part.
This is the 21st edition of the tournament and featured over 200 boxers from 21 countries.
