MLA S.G. Esmatur Mominin has been appointed as the chairman of the minority cell of the Meghalaya state unit of the National People’s Party (NPP).

MLA Mominin represents the 46-Phulbari Assembly constituency in West Garo Hills.

An appointment letter was issued on July 25 by the Meghalaya state president of National People’s Party, Dr W.R. Kharlukhi.

In the appointment letter Dr Kharlukhi said: “I am pleased to inform that Shri S.G. Esmatur Mominin (MLA) is appointed as a chairman of Minority Affairs Cell of the National People’s Party-NPP, Meghalaya State Unit, until further notification with immediate effect.”

The National People’s Party (NPP) is leading the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government.

The NPP is a national political party led by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma.
