Guwahati: U.S.-Israeli strikes targeted a quay at Iran’s Bandar Khamir port near the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, killing five people and injuring four, according to Iranian state media.
The official IRNA news agency reported that the attack hit port infrastructure, describing it as a “criminal strike” and attributing it to U.S. and Israeli forces.
Separately, a series of loud explosions was reported across parts of the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Sunday. Eyewitness accounts reported by agencies said the blasts were heard in the northern parts of the city, with smoke seen rising from areas in the northeast.
The exact targets of the explosions in Tehran were not immediately clear.
The incidents come amid heightened tensions in the region, with developments being closely monitored.
