Smartphones are the main devices responsible for making people tech savvy including children

From giving us information anytime to making our lives comfortable, smartphones have played a key role in the technological boom in the 21st century

However, it is a fact that no smartphone is best for your kid and this has been stated in a detailed post on LinkedIn by former CEO of Xiaomi India Manu Kumar Jain

“Stop giving smartphones to your kids! Parents, let's talk about the alarming impact of early smartphone and tablet exposure on our children's mental health,” Jain wrote

He revealed that a Sapien Labs report sent by his friend reveals how young children who have access to smartphones from a tender age can face increased likelihood of suffering from mental disorders as adults

As per the Sapien Labs report, around 60-70% of women and 45-50% of men who were exposed to smartphones before the age of 10 are experiencing mental health issues as adults.

Jain urged parents to resist the temptation of handing over a phone to kids to keep them occupied whenever they throw tantrums

“Instead, encourage real-world interactions, some outdoor activities, and/or engage them in hobbies. By doing so, we can create a healthier and more balanced environment that fosters authentic learning and social interactions,” he wrote

He advised parents to ensure a best possible foundation for a bright and healthy future for their children by controlling their screen time limits
