Dev Uthani Ekadashi or Tulsi Vivah is an auspicious Hindu occasion which is celebrated with great pomp and devotion

While the day of Dev Uthani Ekadashi marks the awakening of Lord Vishnu from slumber, Tulsi Vivah symbolizes the marriage of Goddess Tulsi with Lord Narayana.

The Tulsi Vivah signifies the end of the monsoon and the starting of wedding season of Hindu religion

Tulsi is not only a holy plant in Hindu religion but is also of high medicinal value due to which it is a popular herb according to Ayurveda

According to Ayurveda, Tulsi is an excellent adaptogen and stressbuster, anti-viral herb and an effective skin tonic

Here is a recipe of tulsi tea as suggested by Ayurveda expert Dr. Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya that you can drink daily for boosting your immunity-

Take 5 tulsi leaves, grate some ginger in it and boil it in 250 ml water for 3-5 mins, then strain and sip on it while its warm

You can also add honey in the tea and sip on it (honey should be added only after the tea comes down to room temperature).

According to Dr. Savaliya, tulsi should be taken in the form of tea as chewing the leaves is not so good due to the presence of mercury in it

When chewed, the mercury content in Tulsi gets released in your mouth, which can damage your teeth and cause discolouration
