Bollywood actress Rashmika Mandanna finally reacted to an AI deepfake video of hers that has become viral on social media
Mandanna, in a post on X, revealed that she felt ‘really hurt to share’ about her ‘extremely scary’ experience and called on people to come together as a community to address issues of such ‘identity theft’
“I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online,” she wrote.
“Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused,” she added
“Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system,” she added
“ But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft,” she added
The deepfake video which shows a lady as Rashmika entering a lift actually was Zara Patel, a British Indian who has over 415K followers on Instagram
After Rashmika's deepfake video surfaced on social media, Amitabh Bachchan was quick to notice it and demanded legal action against the same
Bachchan, who is Rashmika's 'Goodbye' co-star shared his opinion on X and wrote, "Yes this is a strong case for legal”
Rashmika made her Bollywood debut with the 2022 film Goodbye. She will next be seen in 'Animal' with Ranbir Kapoor
