Namita Thapar, who is serving as an Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and has served as a judge in Shark Tank India, recently opened up about her mental health journey
Thapar, who has been quite vocal about the topic of mental health and even invested in firms providing therapy for mental well being, recently spoke about being trolled as a papa ki pari, bad mother etc
Sharing a video on Instagram, Thapar shared three ways of overcoming anxiety issues which she dealt with as a kid
“First and most importantly self-love. Love yourself more than anyone else in the world can love you. That means when you fail, be kind to yourself, forgive yourself,” she said
“Secondly don’t care about the world. Listen, even when you are perfect, people are going to talk crap about you. So embrace your imperfections, that’s what’s make you human. Celebrate your imperfections,” she said
“Thirdly… meditate, silence, relection,” she added
Thapar advised that if our situations are not severe or chronic, we can start with counseling, support groups, yoga, self-love, meditation
She also said that if we are suffering from extreme chronic situations, we should not hesitate to ask for help and take medical advice
The entrepreneur also asked people to be kind as nobody knows what someone is going through even if they show themselves as a very happy person
“We don’t know what the person next to us is going through. They may have the brightest, biggest smile like I used to but deep down they may be hurting inside,” she said
Sharing the video on her Instagram handle, Thapar wrote in a caption, “It takes a lot of strength to ask for help. Growing up (adulting) can get overwhelming but self compassion and counselling can move mountains”
