Situated in Panbazar area of Guwahati, this serene spot is highly favoured by the locales as a recreational space to visit with family
Besides the cozy viewing corners available in the gardens of the Centre, another reason of it being a popular recreational space is due to the availability of high end food chains there
It was this hillock from where the legendary Lachit Barphukan surveyed the battle with the Mughal army, and despite him being unwell, led a charge with his men for the decisive attack against the Mughals
The main attraction of the Centre is the 170 year old Heritage Bungalow which showcases various artifacts associated with the lifestyle and culture of Assamese people
The premises of the Centre remain open from 10 AM to 11 PM daily whereas entry to the Heritage Bungalow is available only from 10 AM to 9 PM everyday
The entry fees inside the Centre are Rs. 100 for people with ages ranging from 10 years to 75 years. However, entry is free for children below 10 years and for elderly people above 75 years
