Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut who often makes headlines for her strong political opinions and views on nepotism or of the film industry now turned her opinion towards academics
Ranaut, in a post on X, said that the Master of Arts (M.A.) programme in Hindu Studies is innovative as it would teach a student about our glorious heritage and also help her navigate the present through modern and practical knowledge
“Dear Friends Did you know that the Delhi University has launched a very cool MA program this year - i.e. in the area of Hindu Studies?,” Ranaut said in a post on X
“I found this newly offered MA (Hindu Studies) to be groundbreaking because it provisions for minors in several knowledge domains such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Commerce, Political Science and more,” she added
“To me this is really exciting and innovative because such an MA (Hindu Studies) program will educate the student in not only our glorious heritage and values, but will also help her navigate the present through expertise in modern and practical knowledge. Delhi University has started the admission process for three new courses - MA in Hindu Studies, Chinese Studies, and PG Diploma in Cyber Security & Law- on September 19, 2023 and the registration process for these programmes will close on September 30, 2023
According to a DU information bulletin, these courses aim to combine traditional knowledge related to Hindu philosophy with contemporary subjects, including computer science, informatics, commerce, and political science
It also seeks to make students proficient in Chinese along with making them aware of the latest techniques in the cyber world
There are a total of 60 seats available for MA in Hindu Studies
Candidates with a bachelor's degree in any field can apply for the programme.
