Here are some fasting tips for this festival to help you sail through smoothly without any sickness as recommended by dietitian Leema Mahajan-
Pre-fasting tips
1. To stay energetic for the day, skip fried food in sargi and instead have paneer stuffed roti with yoghurt sprinkled with seeds
2. To stay full for longer, skip mithai, tea, coffee and have dates, figs or fresh fruits with nuts
3. To avoid dehydration, end your sargi with a glass of milk or coconut water
Post fasting tips
4. To prevent heartburn and acidity, avoid fried and spicy curries
5. To balance electrolytes, drink a glass of coconut water
6. After afternoon puja, drink a glass of milk / juice instead of tea / coffee in afternoon
