Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed the two decisions that will have a profound impact on the economy of the state

Sarma, in a post on X, claimed that the upcoming Unity Mall or Ekta Mall will be a testimony to the economic prowess of Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat

Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat is a programme aiming to enhance mutual understanding and pave way for developmental activities between different states and Union territories of India

He also claimed that the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom scheme is another decision that shall empower the aspirations of 2 lakh Assamese entrepreneurs

“Both these decisions will have profound impact on the State’s economy. The upcoming Ekta Mall will be a testimony to the economic prowess of #EkBharatShresthBharat, while the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom scheme shall empower the aspirations of 2 lakh Assamese entrepreneurs,” Sarma wrote in a post on X

The Unity Mall is going to be constructed at a cost of 226 crore at the Assam State Promotion Organization Complex at Betkuchi area in Guwahati

This commercial complex is going to feature 35 showrooms for all states and union territories of India and 35 showrooms for all districts of Assam

The Unity Mall, which will also have food courts offering cuisines from all parts of India, is aimed at providing a robust marketing platform for ‘Made in Assam’ products as well as the craftsmen behind it

Meanwhile, the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom scheme aims to identify 2 lakh Assamese entrepreneurs and help them in generating employment opportunities through the setting up of new entrepreneurial ventures

The beneficiaries under this scheme will be provided financial assistance with government grants plus an Interest-Free Government loan to be repaid after 5 years

They will also have to undergo a 1-month training programme to enhance entrepreneurship, management and accounting skills. The beneficiaries will receive Rs.10,000 as a stipend during the training period.
