Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today recalled some beautiful old memories of his student days in Cotton University

Sarma, in a post on X, revealed that he became nostalgic while welcoming Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar at his alma mater Cotton University

He also revealed that one of the most remarkable memories of his student life was welcoming the then President of India Shankar Dayal Sharma as a General Secretary of Cotton College Students’ Union

“While welcoming Hon’ble Vice President at my alma mater - Cotton University today, beautiful old memories got refreshed!” wrote Sarma

“31 years ago, as GS of then Cotton College Students’ Union, I had the honour of welcoming the then Rashtrapati Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma ji to this illustrious institution of excellence,” he added

Dhankar along with Sarma had a special interaction session with students and faculty members of Cotton University in Guwahati today

They also attended the third convocation of Royal Global University in Guwahati

Dhankar, on his arrival in Guwahati, was accorded a warm welcome by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Governor Gulabchand Kataria with Assamese gamusa and a bouquet of flowers

The Vice President is on a one-day visit in the capital city of Assam

Taking to X, CM Sarma wrote “Honoured to welcome Adarniya Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar ji at the LGBI Airport in Guwahati. Dhankhar ji is a beacon of probity and wisdom and he is visiting the city today to inspire our youth from Cotton University and Royal Global University.”
