Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude towards his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu for his decision to contribute a big donation in a temple
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu recently went to offer his prayers to Lord Shiva at Siddheshwarnath Nath Temple in Ziro Valley
Khandu, in a post on X, announced his decision to contribute Rs. 1 crore from his personal account for the development of this holy shrine
“The majestic aura of Lord Shiva at Siddheshwarnath Nath Mandir in Ziro Valley is truly mystic & enchanting. Blessed to have offered prayers at the sacred shrine today,” wrote Khandu
“Assured the temple committee to donate Rs 1 crore from my personal account for the development of the holy place, also known as Kardo Mahadev Temple,” he added
“It is believed that Lord Shiva resides on Karada Hill,” he added
Sarma expressed his gratitude to Khandu for his decision to personally contribute for the development of this temple where he had earlier went along with his family
Located in the Kardo Forest, this 25 ft tall and 22 ft wide Shivalinga was discovered by one Prem Subha while cutting a tree there during the holy month of Shravana
The tree miraculously fell a few feet away from the Shivling and it struck his mind that it was not a mere stone but a Shivling
The Shivling, which appeared as per a legend of the Puranic prophecy, also has an image of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha with trunk turning leftward
