Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma applauded Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for providing some of the clearest ever footages of a lunar crater in the Moon

Sharing the pictures of the lunar crater that was taken by the Navigation Camera onboard the Pragyan Rover on X (formerly Twitter), Sarma applauded ISRO for being able to capture some stunning images of the moon

“Stunning images of the Moon! One of the clearest ever footages of a lunar crater,” Sarma wrote in a post on X

ISRO has recently reported that the Pragyan rover encountered a 4-meter diameter crater on the moon's surface on August 27, 2023

The unknown obstacle was luckily spotted just 3 metres ahead of the Rover’s location but soon the ISRO team was able to command the Rover to retrace its path and choose a new way to explore the lunar surface of the moon

“On August 27, 2023, the Rover came across a 4-meter diameter crater positioned 3 meters ahead of its location. The Rover was commanded to retrace the path. It's now safely heading on a new path,” ISRO said in a post on X

The quick response of the scientists in preventing any unfortunate incident shows that careful monitoring, meticulous planning and smart execution were the ingredients which lead to the success of Chandrayaan-3 mission

India achieved a significant milestone after the Chandrayaan-3 had successfully soft landed on the moon on August 23, 2023

The mission objectives of Chandrayaan-3 are to demonstrate safe and soft landing on lunar surface, demonstrate rover roving on the moon and conduct in-situ scientific experiments

It has now been nearly a week since India became the fourth country to achieve a soft lunar landing and the first to reach the southern polar region of the Moon.
