Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, recalled his childhood visit on aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on Navy Day
Mahindra, in a post on X, defines this visit as one of the most energizing memories from his childhood
INS Vikrant is the first aircraft carrier to be built in India and was constructed by the Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL)
“One of the most energising memories from my childhood is a visit on board our first aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant I remember a strong feeling of being safe & protected,” he wrote in a post on X
“Our Navy still makes me feel that way. On Navy Day, I bow low with gratitude,” he added
Navy Day is celebrated on December 4 every year to recognize the achievements and role of the Indian Navy to the country
This day is held as Navy Day to commemorate the Indian Navy’s successful victory over Pakistan during Operation Trident in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his best wishes to all the personnel of Indian Navy on the occasion of Navy Day
“On Navy Day, best wishes to all the personnel of the Indian Navy. Their commitment to safeguarding our seas is a testament to their unwavering dedication to duty and love for our nation,” he wrote in a post on X
“In every circumstance, their spirit and resolve remain unshakable. We are forever grateful for their service and sacrifices,” he added
