National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala Tripura is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the project entitled “Process Development for the production of value-added, low alcoholic Kodo
Ko Jaanr – A Traditional millet based fermented functional food of Northeast India” in 2026.

Emolument per month :
(i) Rs. 37,000/- + HRA for 2 Years
(ii) Rs. 42,000/- + HRA for 3rd Year (Subjected to the satisfactory performance and
recommendations of the JRF to SRF)
Essential Qualification :
Essential:
a) B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Biotechnology / Food Technology / Food Science and Technology / Industrial Biotechnology or MSc in a relevant field, and
b) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc. (As per DST guidelines in OM.No:DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 (E-file – 41804) dated 26th June 2023.
Desirable:
Candidates should possess fundamental knowledge relevant to the project, along with a record of publications in SCI, SCIE, or Scopus-indexed journals. As the project involves collaboration across multiple institutions, a willingness to travel is preferred.

Candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview on 10th August 2026. Time of interview is from 11 AM onwards. Venue is in Dept of Bioengineering, NIT Agartala
