Sensation prevailed here area after Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body of a 30-year-old man and his two-year-son from railway tracks at Salakati.

A GRP official said bodies of father and son were found at Salakati in Kokrajhar district by locals who subsequently informed police. Salakati is 14 kilometres away from Kokrajhar.

Police said the man along with his little son committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train.

“According to eye witness, the man committed suicide with his two-year-old son by jumping in front of a moving train following a verbal spat with his wife,” police official Kanak Basumatary told NE Now.

The man has been identified as Chandan Hasda of Chandiyagaon village under Salakati police station in Kokrajhar district.

Basumatary said the train driver reported the incident to GRP at Salakati station following the speedy train run over father and son duo.

The village headman of Chandiyagaon said the bodies of Hasda and his son were found lying on the railway tracks at Salakati.
