Several countries are coming forward to offer assistance to India amidst its Covid-19 catastrophe.

The country is recording the highest number of daily Covid-19 positive cases in the globe currently, with 3.52 lakhs fresh cases detected in the past 24 hours.

The UK is in the process of supplying ventilators and oxygen concentrator devices to India in view of the acute shortage of oxygen that has led to the deaths of many patients.

The first consignment is likely to reach India on Tuesday.

The other member nations of the European Union have also extended aid for India.

The US has offered to send in raw materials to India for production of more numbers of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

It will also provide medical equipment and protective gear.

“We stand side by side with India as a friend and partner during what is a deeply concerning time in the fight against Covid-19,” a report quoted UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as saying.

Several nations including Britain, UAE, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands have banned flights from India.

Meanwhile, US president Joe Biden said that his country is committed to help India in this time of immense difficulty.

France will provide aid to India in the form of oxygen.

Pakistan has offered to provide medical equipment and supplies.

The country’s Edhi foundation will be sending a fleet of 50 ambulances to India.
