Former Assam Minister and a veteran Congress leader Nepal Chandra Das breathed his last on Tuesday.
Das was 73 years old at the time of his demise.

According to media reports, the veteran Congress leader died at his Panchgram residence in Hailakandi district.
He died at 7 in the morning.
Das, who was born on April 23, 1944, was elected to the Lok Sabha from Karimganj constituency in 1998.

He was re-elected to the Lok Sabha from the same constituency in 1999. He also won the State Assembly polls from the Algapur Assembly constituency in 1978.
Due to his performance, Das also became a minister of the State.
Das, who was born at Mymensingh in East Pakistan, was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from 1983- 85 representing the Katigorah Assembly constituency.
