Assam Governor Jagdish Mulkhi who was on a two-day visit to Golaghat visited the historical Athkhelia naamghar and offered prayers on Sunday.

The Governor also interacted with the management of Athkhelia naamghar, local people and students who had gathered there to greet him.

The Governor also visited the Kamarbandha Ali Block Primary Health Centre (PHC) and inspected the premises. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra and Superintendent of Police Manabendra Dev Ray.

The Governor instructed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that proper cleanliness and hygiene be maintained in all the health institutions of the district.

Governor Mukhi also attended the 87th convention of Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha at Dergaon on Saturday.

After attending the convention, he held meetings with Government officials, leading citizens, social workers, representatives of NGOs, students bodies and also interacted with local media.
