Union minister of state for home affairs – Nityanand Rai has tested positive for COVID-19.

Rai was tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday in New Delhi with mild symptoms. 

“My COVID test result has returned positive. I have isolated myself. People who came in contact with me are requested to take necessary steps,” minister Nityanand Rai said.

Notably, Rai, on Wednesday, attended an event at the CRPF’s Shaurya Officers Institute in Delhi. 

Nityanand Rai was also in Bihar from December 31 till January 4, where he participated in several programmes in different districts. 

Notably, as many as four Bihar ministers, including deputy CMs Renu Devi and Tar Kishore Prasad, have tested positive for COVID-19.
