Union minister and senior BJP leader Narayan Rane is likely to be arrested by Maharashtra police over his controversial remarks against chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
A team of Nashik Police is already on its way to arrest Narayan Rane over his controversial remark.
Multiple FIRs have been filed against Narayan Rane over the union minister’s comment on slapping Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
“The Union minister will be arrested in the case and produced before a court, and further action will be taken according to orders of the court,” said Nashik police chief Deepak Pandey.
Meanwhile, workers of Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena and the opposition BJP clashed on the streets in Mumbai over Rane’s controversial remarks.
Narayan Rane’s comments sparked protests by Shiv Sena leaders and workers.
A clash broke out between the Shiv Sena members and BJP workers outside Narayan Rane’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu.
“It is shameful that the Chief Minister does not know the year of independence. He leaned back to ask about the count of years of independence during his speech. Had I been there, I would have given him a tight slap,” Rane had said.
