Union minister for chemicals and fertilizers, D.V. Sadananda Gowda has tested positive for COVID-19.
His symptoms are reportedly said to be mild.
“After initial symptoms of Covid-19, I got myself tested and the report came positive. I have isolated myself,” tweeted Gowda.
The minister has requested everyone who came into his contact to be careful and follow the protocols.
Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 scenario is taking a turn for the worse with the country recording a 50 per cent spike in new positive cases in just two days after Diwali.
Many people have refrained from following Covid-19 protocols during the festival season, resulting in rapid transmission of the virus.
