A Tamil Nadu doctor who tested negative for coronavirus died of dengue in a private hospital in Coimbatore on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old doctor was a native of Sirumugai and he was serving in the primary health centre in Tengumarhada.

Tengumarhada is a tribal village in Nilgiris district of the state.

The deceased, identified as Jayamohan, was admitted to a private hospital a couple of days back after he complained of high fever.

Hospital sources informed that Jayamohan had undergone coronavirus test and the result of it was negative.

โ€œWhen we carried out further tests, we found that he was suffering from dengue. He passed away without responding to the treatment,โ€ the hospital sources further added.
