Three young promising shuttlers from Sikkim have been shortlisted for Badminton Association of India (BAI) Sub-Junior Summer Coaching Camp of this year at the Padukone-Dravid Sports Centre for Excellence in Bangalore. The selected players are Nabin Pradhan and Ashim Chettri in U-13 boys and Anisha Rai in U-13 girls.
Badminton Association of Sikkim in a press release stated the camp has been divided into two phases, the first phase from June 1 to 21 and the next from June 25 to July 15, with 45 trainees in each phase. The BAI has invited three talented badminton players (boys or girls) each from various states to be guided and trained under legendary Prakash Padukone, U Vimal Kumar and a team of other coaches.

The release informed that these players have been selected on the basis of their merit through a selection committee constituted by the Badminton Association of Sikkim during a trial test conducted on May 14 at Namchi Indoor Badminton Hall in South Sikkim.
BAS president C Zangpo has congratulated the trio for their selection and expressed best wishes for a bright future.
