Star Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Mendis was arrested on Sunday for knocking down a pedestrian while driving.

As per reports, the right-handed batsman knocked off a 74-year-old man in the wee hours of Sunday morning in the Colombo suburb of Panadura. The man died on the spot.

The 25-year-old wicket-keeper batsman has played 44 Tests and 76 ODIs for Sri Lanka and he was a part of the national squad that resumed training after the COVID-19 lockdown.
