Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani on Wednesday shared the recipe of a traditional dish from Nagaland with her followers on Twitter as a mark of celebrating PoshanMaah 2020.
The National Nutrition month or PoshanMaah 2020 which commenced from September 1 will continue till September 30.
The video of the recipe which was shared by the Union Minister on Twitter featured a 13-year-old Dimapur based chef AyimImchen cooking the dish.
Irani also said that the young chef had learned to make the nutritious dish from her grandmother.
“13-year-old budding Chef AyimImchen from Dimapur has learnt a traditional dish from her Grandmother. This simple nutritious recipe from Nagaland is just the tip of the huge iceberg called Indian cuisine,” Irani tweeted.

The video showed the young chef preparing Naga Yam Stew with Yam, mustard leaves, tomatoes, chilli and ginger.
The recipe was one of the many entries received as a part of POSHAN Abhiyan ‘Recipe Contest’ organized by MyGovIndia to celebrate National Nutrition month or PoshanMaah 2020.
The Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition or POSHAN Abhiyaan or National Nutrition Mission is Government of India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers which was launched on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2018, in Rajasthan,
