Effigies of the Chinese President Xi Jinping were burnt across Nepal after a recent government report revealed that China had ‘encroached’ on 36 hectares of Nepalese land.
As per reports, China encroached around 36 hectares of Nepalese land in four different districts including Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk and Humla.

Kathmandu’s document showing the alleged Chinese encroachment was ironically a response to a map released on November 2 by New Delhi, which claimed a 372-square-kilometre (144-square-mile) border region, known as Kalapani in Nepal, as part of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand.
Government sources also suggested Nepal may further lose several hundred hectares of land to China.

Local media reported that slogans were raised against the Chinese President and placards with messages like “Go Back China” and “Return Nepal Land” was also displayed.
