In what was termed to be a major security lapse, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Punjab’s Ferozepur was postponed.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the rally was postponed for some security reasons.

The Prime Minister of India was stuck on a flyover for at least 15 minutes after some protesters had created a blockade.

Union Home Ministry described the incident as a “major lapse” in the PM’s security.

After the “major security lapse” in Punjab, the Prime Minister’s convoy decided to return and the Home Ministry has asked the Punjab government to take strict action for the lapse.

Mansukh Mandaviya further stated that Prime Minister Modi wanted to meet “you all” but because of some reasons, he is not going to be with us today.

The inauguration programmes by the PM has been postponed and not cancelled as per Mandaviya.

It may be mentioned that PM Modi was scheduled to lay the foundation stones of projects worth over ? 42,750 crore.
