The opposition led by the Congress has launched a massive offensive against the Centre over a host of issues including Pegasus snoop gate, price rise of fuel and other essential commodities.

Opposition MPs of 17 parties were invited by top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the breakfast meeting to formulate a joint strategy to take on the government over various issues.

“The single motive to invite you is that we should unite. The more this voice unites, the more powerful it will become, the more difficult it will become for the BJP and RSS to suppress this voice,” Gandhi said at the meeting.

“We have slightly different perspectives of the world, we come from different states, different ideas. But I think we should develop a foundation of unity,” Rahul Gandhi said.

MPs from the DMK, NCP, Shiv Sena, RJD, Samajwadi Party, CPI-M, CPI, IUML, RSP, KCM, JMM, National Conference, TMC, and the LJD attended the breakfast meet.

Later the MPs led by Rahul Gandhi rode bicycles to parliament to protest against the issue of fuel price hike.

“One of the ways to draw the attention of the government on the issue is by cycling to parliament. People of India are struggling,” Gandhi said.
