After MP Sushmita Deb, one more woman leader was on Thursday included in the core team of the women wing of the Congress party.
Arunachal Congress leader Jarjum Ete has been appointed as the general secretary of the All India Mahila Congress.
AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said this on Saturday in a statement.
The Congress last year appointed party lawmaker Sushmita Dev as the chief of Mahila Congress. Sushmita, daughter of former union minister Santosh Mohan Dev, is MP from Assam’s Silchar.
55-year-old Ete is former Chairperson of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission on Women.
In 1985 she joined the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society and became an active volunteer and later rose to be its spokesperson.
