West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that she is forming a team to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and the team will have Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee among others.
“There has been no revenue generation due to the lockdown and we don’t know till when we will have to live this way,” Banerjee said while speaking to media.
“We need to plan for the future and accordingly our government will form a Global Advisory Committee for COVID-19 response policy,” the CM further added.
“Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee will also be a part of this committee,” the WB CM further said.
The Centre on Friday approved the release of Rs11,092 crore to states under the State Disaster Risk Management Fund.
