Above normal temperatures will be experienced in New Delhi and the nearby northwest areas for the next three days said India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“Temperatures in Delhi-NCR region and northwest India are above normal which will continue in the coming day,” reported Hindustan Times quoting IMD deputy director-general Anand Sharma.

Sharma further said that the temperatures may fall after June 20.

“We are expecting a low-pressure system to form in the Bay of Bengal which will strengthen the easterlies and that can bring rain,” the report added.

He further informed that the present weather is extremely uncomfortable due to humidity and heat.

The IMD has further issued a heat-wave warning at isolated places in West Rajasthan.

The IMD deputy director-general further informed that monsoon has already arrived in Eastern UP with Gorakhpur receiving good rainfall in the last 24 hours.

“Western Rajasthan will experience severe heat-wave for the next two days,” the IMD said in its weather outlook for the coming week.

“Due to the advancement of the Southwest monsoon, Gujarat is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall at scattered places for the next two days,” the IMD said.

It also predicted a cloudy sky with light rain for the next four days in Ahmadabad.

Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty wind is likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on June 21.
